[20:08] <SDOGUSA> Its a true HONOR Mr. Sadler...I am happy for this opportunity!
[20:08] <Susi> hi Michael :)
[20:08] <Ronster> good evening
[20:08] <Sagalover> is that you sadler
[20:09] <Michael Sadler> Hi there forum folks! Yup, it's Michael being channeled by Gwen
[20:09] <Shawn> I'm really excited to hear the new album, what label is it on?
[20:09] <Mike> Glad to have Gwen as well
[20:09] <Ronster> thanx in advance for channelling, Gwen
[20:09] <SDOGUSA> When you have a chance, can you please tell us why USA never gets a chance to see you?
[20:10] <Michael Sadler> It is actually our own label, with the official name not yet determined.
[20:10] <JMDawson> I'm with SDOG on the USA question
[20:10] <ddirvine> Has a release date been set?
[20:10] <ProgRock> Michael, let me just say the turn out here tonight says a lot about you an artist. This is wonderful having this many people excited to chat with you.
[20:11] <Michael Sadler> Ok, let's leave that question for later - it takes too long, maybe not in this format, ok?
[20:11] <JMDawson> I just stumbled onto the info a few minutes and logged on
[20:11] <Susi> Michael: tell us about the progress with recording please :)
[20:11] <SDOGUSA> OK, but remember, the USA loves you
[20:11] <SDOGUSA> you need to know that
[20:11] <NoStrange> Yes, right and who are the musicians involved?
[20:11] <Michael Sadler> The pleasure is all mine, I wouldn't be here without all of you :)
[20:11] <Ronster> ditto
[20:11] <Sagalover> are you going to be recording in Jim Crichton's Studio??
[20:12] <Michael Sadler> Actually the L.A. sessions were done in Jim's studio
[20:12] <Michael Sadler> The recording is complete at this stage - Now being mixed in Germany
[20:13] <Mike> Sop how will this album differ from Saga? Harder, softer?
[20:13] <JMDawson> Obvious questions: solo tour?
[20:13] <ProgRock> Michael: can you give us an idea for the direction of the music? What style?
[20:13] <Susi> Michael: Christine and Stephan told me to give you a warm hug - they will try to join the channel tonight :)
[20:13] <Sagalover> cant wait to hear that great voice again
[20:13] <Michael Sadler> Thank you
[20:14] <Michael Sadler> Hi Susi, thanks, same to them
[20:14] <SDOGUSA> No thank you for sharing your talent with us Mr. Sadler
[20:14] <Michael Sadler> Aww, you guys...
[20:14] <Sagalover> we all luvvvvvvvvvv yaaaa michael :)
[20:14] <Michael Sadler> :)
[20:14] <NoStrange> Michael, did you play instruments by yourself or any guest musicians on CLEAR?
[20:14] <Illusionist> Been a fan a long time out in in the Bay Area Michael, thanks for all the great music
[20:15] <JMDawson> Three fans in the Bay Area now online
[20:15] <SDOGUSA> bay are here too.... I am with Ill
[20:15] <Alex_O> howe long have you work on the music and text for the new cd Michael?
[20:15] <ProgRock> Michael: Is the music mainly pop or did you add a few different styles
[20:15] <Michael Sadler> Keyboards by myself and Tommy SZ, other musicians came in and did a great job
[20:15] <NewportSagaNut> Hi Michael, will you tour in support of your record??
[20:15] <Michael Sadler> you can see their pictures on my site - we will update info on the players
[20:16] <NoStrange> thanks Michael
[20:16] <Michael Sadler> It's pop flavored, but of course has my SAGA influence in there as well as some other new sounds
[20:17] <ProgRock> thanks Michael
[20:17] <Mike> What kind of new sounds??
[20:17] <Illusionist> Love to see you out here in San Francisco Michael, crab and beers on me!!
[20:17] <ProgRock> crab and beers? Be right there!
[20:17] <Mike> me too
[20:17] <Illusionist> Anytime!!
[20:17] <Lusitana> you should be like sting or phil collins except not as lame. ever thought of leaving saga?
[20:17] <Michael Sadler> Playing with other people obviously has an effect - I'll have to leave it up to you, my beloved critics :)
[20:18] <ddirvine> Is their a Saga CD you would compare "Clear" to?
[20:18] <Michael Sadler> Steel Umbrellas meets Full Circle, I would say
[20:19] <JBug> will you post a few samples of "Clear" on your site like Saga did with Marathon ?
[20:19] <Michael Sadler> Have not decided yet, let's finish it first, then we'll know what samples to share
[20:19] <JBug> Ok, thanks
[20:19] <NoStrange> Michael I bet some ballads will be on CLEAR, right?
[20:20] <Ronster> Will the 'Back Where You Belong' tracks be tweaked for 'Clear'?
[20:20] <Michael Sadler> Absolutely, how did you know?
[20:20] <Sagalover> KeyBoards michael will there be???
[20:20] <Michael Sadler> Yes, but not all, and more than tweaked
[20:20] <SDOGUSA> Will USA see you Mr. Sadler in the future?
[20:20] <Michael Sadler> sorry, trying to type as fast as i can
[20:20] <SagaGuest1> hello michael have you heard the Myon cover version of wind him up
[20:20] <NoStrange> Because you are a good singer, but in singing ballads you are fantastic
[20:20] <Ronster> cool. I look forward to the new take on those tracks
[20:21] <Michael Sadler> Still no concrete plans for USA, but closer to reality than before
[20:21] <JBug> What about dates in Canada ?
[20:21] <Michael Sadler> Yes, and of course, working on maybe a show or two for Canada as soon as feasible
[20:22] <Michael Sadler> I have to work in those things alongside SAGA schedule as well.
[20:22] <JMDawson> If you could do BC this time, maybe us Bay Area-ns could carpool
[20:23] <Michael Sadler> This is my part time job
[20:23] <Susi> *lol*
[20:23] <NoStrange> Can`t listen to the poor fans in USA, feel privileged living in Germany
[20:23] <JMDawson> I remember Saga opening for Pat Benatar at MSG in NYC
[20:24] <Michael Sadler> I remember the Benatar gig, it was a great tour, first time in New york, did a video there
[20:25] <SDOGUSA> you have made quite an impression on so many people for so long Mr. Sadler
[20:25] <JMDawson> What's it like playing w/o Steve nowadays?
[20:25] <Michael Sadler> :)
[20:26] <Michael Sadler> It's interesting without Steve, but that is life, the ebb and flow...
[20:26] <JMDawson> Is it reminiscent of the Wildest Dreams days?
[20:26] <Illusionist> How long ago did you do that interview in Progression magazine??
[20:27] <Lusitana> Steve seems like a much more fluent and controlled player than Simpson
[20:27] <ddirvine> Never say never "the king of drums" could return one day.............
[20:27] <Michael Sadler> No, it isn't like that, because we now have Christian, so it's quite different - those days we did not have a permanent replacement
[20:28] <Mike> My BIG question is, Why did you decide to do the Solo stuff.
[20:28] <Susi> Michael: do you already know the release date of the new CD Clear?
[20:28] <Canrock88> Michael, how is the sale of 'Clear' going to work: Everybody who signed up will receive an e-mail once the cd is available?
[20:28] <NoStrange> My BIG question would be why not earlier?
[20:28] <Ronster> Christian does alter the flavor a bit, but did a good job @ his first Saga gig @ Mt. Forest last August
[20:28] <Pitchman> Illusionist, the interview with Progression was done back in the summer I believe. :)
[20:29] <Illusionist> Thanks
[20:29] <Illusionist> I thought it was a great retrospect
[20:29] <JMDawson> I'm interested in anything produced by anyone in Saga but I have to know if there will
[20:30] <JMDawson> ever be a live staging of Gen 13?
[20:30] <Michael Sadler> It is like someone writing their memoirs, there is certain music that I write that is not appropriate for SAGA and it needed an avenue of expression
[20:30] <Shawn> I'd like to see an album of all the chapters in a row in one set
[20:30] <Michael Sadler> Everyone who has reserved a copy will receive advance notice
[20:31] <Shawn> I'm actually surprised you haven't done more solo albums Michael
[20:31] <Michael Sadler> We are planning a wider release as soon as we can work out distribution
[20:31] <Shawn> was it time?
[20:31] <Michael Sadler> Regarding Gen 13, still in discussion
[20:31] <JMDawson> One of the best concept albums ever...
[20:31] <Michael Sadler> The chapters album is coming soon
[20:31] <JBug> Great !
[20:32] <Illusionist> YES!!!.
[20:32] <NoStrange> wow
[20:32] <Canrock88> You recorded songs in '85 for a solo album, any of these make it onto Clear?
[20:32] <Michael Sadler> Yes it was time..
[20:32] <Lusitana> Michael, will the band ever play stuff from The Beginners Guide to Throwing Shapes or Wildest Dreams again?
[20:32] <Mike> Chapters album did I read right?
[20:32] <NoStrange> Oh yes Throwing Shapes was a great album
[20:32] <Michael Sadler> Their might be a bonus track for the Chapters album
[20:33] <JBug> Will the chapters album be a live one ?
[20:33] <Michael Sadler> Sorry, the stuff from '85 is archived
[20:33] <JMDawson> signing off - you guys are the greatest
[20:34] <Michael Sadler> The chapters album is live
[20:34] <JBug> Fantastic
[20:34] <Mike> SWEEEEEETTT!!!
[20:34] <Susi> great!
[20:34] <Ronster> terrific!!!!
[20:34] <NoStrange> yes!
[20:34] <parcel> hurray! :)
[20:35] <ddirvine> did anyone from the "survey list" on your web-site appear on the CD
[20:35] <ProgRock> did I just see that The Chapters album is LIVE???
[20:35] <Alex_O> Michel, will there be a single one to the next CD again ?
[20:35] <Mike> OK, so we have an idea, what is your favorite song on your upcoming album? Any planned single release for radio play?
[20:35] <NoStrange> still christmas time!!!
[20:36] <NoStrange> DVD, new studio album, chapters live CD, tour in fall (I hope)
[20:36] <Michael Sadler> No, I decided to use players who are generally in the shadows and felt they deserved to heard
[20:37] <Michael Sadler> Actually no favorites yet, I'm planning on flying to Germany in few weeks to work on finalizing it
[20:39] <Roar> Hi o'mighty voice! Favorite Camel tune?
[20:39] <Michael Sadler> The whole "Nude" album
[20:39] <ddirvine> We had a unscientific survey on the World Apart site for best Saga song and "Don't Be Late" won, do you have a particular Saga song that gets reaction anywhere in the world?
[20:39] <ProgRock> Michael, who most influences your vocal style?
[20:39] <Michael Sadler> "Goodbye"
[20:40] <Pitchman> I like "Stationary Traveller" alot myself, need to get more of their albums!
[20:40] <Michael Sadler> Influences --anyone who can sing in tune, with character
[20:40] <Alex_O> Michael, will you do a small Germany tour to your new CD ?
[20:40] <ProgRock> Freddy Mercury?
[20:41] <ddirvine> Morten Harket of a-ha sounds very similar to Michael
[20:41] <Michael Sadler> Yes, we will try to get a group of shows, no matter how small, and regarding Freddy, people around me seem to think that he had an impact on me, to say the least...
[20:42] <ProgRock> I hear that a lot in your singing style, thats why I asked
[20:42] <Michael Sadler> Good singer - Harket
[20:42] <Mike> I think it was that mustache early in your career! hahahaha
[20:42] <JBug> How long did it take to record Clear ?
[20:42] <Michael Sadler> You mean the Walrus?
[20:42] <ProgRock> You still have a great voice after more than 25 years, how do you keep it in shape?
[20:42] <Illusionist> How about a few bars of "We Are The Champions"
[20:42] <ProgRock> I asked Geoff Tate that question and he said Whiskey and hard living.
[20:43] <Michael Sadler> Actual recording time - not that long, but conception to recording, more like 8 years
[20:43] <Pitchman> Just a question for those who can't make it into chat tonight. In regards to Worlds Apart (the message board), how often do you visit and read what people have to say, and what do you think of some of the comments?
[20:44] <Michael Sadler> Geoff Tate sums it up nicely - however, now I'm CLEAR!!!
[20:44] <ProgRock> Ahh is that the reason for the title?
[20:45] <Michael Sadler> I visit the Forum everyday when I'm not busy - and the comments are great - anything that stirs up lively dialogue
[20:45] <Michael Sadler> Yes, it's definitely the reason for the title
[20:45] <ProgRock> I think your voice sounds as good now as it ever has. Still have all the power and emotion.
[20:45] <Michael Sadler> Thank you
[20:45] <Illusionist> Lively is right
[20:45] <ProgRock> Thank you for 25 + years of great music
[20:46] <NoStrange> Do you discuss forum comments on your show and performance within the band?
[20:46] <Michael Sadler> My pleasure, I'll keep making it, if you keep listening
[20:46] <Pitchman> good question NoStranger
[20:46] <ddirvine> your singing has enormous depth and the "Clear" CD is greatly anticipated
[20:47] <Michael Sadler> I take comments for what they are, if they are constructive, sure, and of course opinions are very personal to those that give them
[20:48] <Michael Sadler> The jokes are funny though - we scout the Forum for gems
[20:48] <Pitchman> haha :)
[20:48] <Mike> favs?
[20:48] <Michael Sadler> TURKEY
[20:48] <Pitchman> MDF has a great joke thread in Chapter 3
[20:48] <Michael Sadler> That was unbelievable
[20:48] <Illusionist> HA HA HA
[20:48] <ddirvine> LOL
[20:48] <Michael Sadler> We'll check it out
[20:49] <Mike> thanks Pitch
[20:49] <Pitchman> "the lighter side", i enjoy posting the jokes and stuff I get in there.
[20:49] <Pitchman> no prob
[20:49] <ddirvine> ok Michael serious question, Scotch or Irish Whisky?
[20:49] <Illusionist> Great album cover idea eh??
[20:49] <Michael Sadler> Neither - I have been sober for almost 2 years now
[20:50] <Pitchman> :)
[20:50] <ProgRock> good for you Michael
[20:50] <ProgRock> I was wondering where the album title came from
[20:50] <ProgRock> This album has so much more meaning to me now
[20:50] <Michael Sadler> :) Clever
[20:50] <Michael Sadler> Me too, after reading the lyrics
[20:50] <ProgRock> can't wait
[20:50] <Michael Sadler> Me neither!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[20:51] <NoStrange> How are you with the new studio album? Any working title that you can reveal here?
[20:51] <Illusionist> No bugs on the cover of CLEAR I guess..
[20:51] <Michael Sadler> Saga's new studio album is titled RELATIVITY
[20:51] <Mike> I am going to have to go here in a minute, it was a pleasure like last time Michael. I hope you guys can make it to the US. I would look forward to the day when I could shake hands with all you you. Wish you the best on CLEAR. Thanks for channeling Gwen!
[20:52] <Michael Sadler> Only a giant can of RAID
[20:52] <Mike> cool
[20:52] <Mike> haha
[20:52] <ddirvine> LOL
[20:52] <Michael Sadler> No problem, thanks Mike!
[20:52] <Sagalover> Einstein
[20:52] <Pitchman> Relativity is such a great title
[20:53] <Ronster> sounds like more props for Uncle Albert.
[20:53] <Pitchman> yeah eh
[20:53] <Michael Sadler> :)
[20:53] <ProgRock> yes it is Pitch
[20:53] <ProgRock> I always get so excited with each new SAGA release
[20:53] <Roar> And what does it relate to? Worlds Apart?
[20:53] <Michael Sadler> Ok, guys, quick note before we wind down
[20:53] <Illusionist> Even though I've never seen you live, Your "cool and calmness" really came out in the "Silhouette" DVD
[20:53] <Michael Sadler> I'll be posting a short audio message on the site - Pitchman will set that up probably by tommorow
[20:53] <ProgRock> agree with Illusionist
[20:54] <JBug> cool
[20:54] <Ronster> kewl
[20:54] <Twilight> Hi Michael!!!
[20:54] <Michael Sadler> Hello
[20:54] <ddirvine> THANKS , can't wait for the CD Michael
[20:54] <ProgRock> Michael, thanks for taking time to chat with all of us
[20:54] <NoStrange> See any chance for ballads making it on RELATIVITY? The two ballads on Marathon were simply amazing..
[20:54] <dickr> A quick hello from Rochester, NY ...Penny Arcade
[20:55] <Ronster> Thanks again, Michael
[20:55] <Sagalover> very interesting theory
[20:55] <Michael Sadler> I can't release a SAGA record without at least one ballad --- :)
[20:55] <Ronster> :)
[20:55] <ProgRock> of course not
[20:55] <Michael Sadler> The Penny Arcade
[20:55] <NoStrange> Dankeschoen Michael, hope to see you soon again
[20:55] <Michael Sadler> Slowly I turned
[20:55] <Lusitana> Ballads seem to be the stronger point in the band, I always find the ballads alot more interesting
[20:55] <Sagalover> its geat to have talked to you Mike again all the best
[20:55] <Illusionist> I've always loved all the ballads the most
[20:55] <NoStrange> Jep, and they are getting better and better
[20:56] <dickr> [The Penny Arcade] Used to work there, still a huge fan
[20:56] <NoStrange> Never understood why there not appearing so often live
[20:56] <ProgRock> Where do you live now Michael?
[20:56] <Michael Sadler> California
[20:56] <ProgRock> near LA?
[20:56] <Michael Sadler> Yes
[20:56] <ProgRock> very cool
[20:57] <ProgRock> would you consider doing guest vocals for us some day on one of our projects?
[20:57] <ProgRock> Our studio is just outside of LA
[20:57] <Michael Sadler> DJ - absolutely, I play well with others
[20:57] <Ronster> Rise And Shine would've been a great US single, I think.
[20:57] <ProgRock> wonderful. We will keep in touch
[20:58] <ProgRock> US is too closed minded, I hate that fact. I live here and there seems to be nothing I can do about it
[20:58] <ProgRock> But we are trying to enlighten as many people as we can.
[20:58] <Michael Sadler> I feel the same way
[20:58] <Michael Sadler> I'll do my part - :)
[20:58] <ddirvine> I emailed the Mike Bullard show last week, any chance of this happening Michael?
[20:58] <ProgRock> me too
[20:58] <Michael Sadler> Still waiting
[20:58] <Pitchman> I would love to help Michael get on that show
[20:59] <Sagalover> why lower himself bullard sucks
[20:59] <Sagalover> just my honest oppinion
[21:00] <Michael Sadler> Ok everyone, we're gonna sign off for now, we'll be joining SAGA Germany's chat this Sunday at 1:00 L.A. time

CLEAR CHAT with MICHAEL SADLER
February 15, 2004

[Portions of this Chat have been clipped to keep focus on just the Questions and Answers.]

*** Log file opened: February 15, 2004 at 4:58 PM
*** Gwen is typing for Michael.

[15:58] Michael Sadler has joined room #saga
[15:58] <Susi> hi Michael ;)
[15:59] <Michael Sadler> Guten Tag, Good Evening, this is Gwen Sadler typing for Michael Sadler
[15:59] <Susi> welcome to the european fan-chat ;)
[15:59] <Michael Sadler> Hello Susi, thank you for inviting Michael.
[15:59] <Susi> it's my pleasure, Gwen :)
[16:00] <Michael Sadler> Well, just a couple of quick notes, something we learned from Friday's chat with Pitchman's Forum. may I?
[16:00] <Susi> M: go ahead :)
[16:01] <Michael Sadler> Thanks, We would appreciate it if we could see 4 questions at a time, Michael will pick one to answer - after that, we can see 4 more questions.
[16:02] <DonDokken> Michael, what do you think of Daryl Hall
[16:02] <christine> let's go : why have you waiting so long for your first solo album
[16:02] <Michael Sadler> So basically, 4 questions, 1 answer, in sequence, is that Ok?
[16:02] <Susi> okay
[16:02] <norway> will there be more cd's like PHASE ONE ?
[16:03] <DonDokken> yeah, we need PHASE TWO!
[16:03] <Graff> Michael, do you still hve any ambitions, goals, dreams, hopes or wishes for Saga?
[16:03] <Michael Sadler> I personally would like to see Gen 13 as a stage production..
[16:03] <Graff> Will we ever get the lyrics to Phase one?
[16:03] <danny> Gen 13 on stage would be great
[16:03] <Susi> M: I would love to see Gen13 live! :)
[16:04] <christine> gen 13 is maybe one of the best saga album
[16:04] <upwinded> Do SAGA has any ambitions to cover songs from other bands ?
[16:04] <Albert> will you tour with your solo cd in germany?
[16:04] <Michael Sadler> The reason my solo album took so long, was timing... waiting for the right opportunity
[16:04] <Graff> Hi Michael, this is your 'body-guard' Silent Knight! When will you tour in Denmark?
[16:04] <pamina> Michael is there a possibility that you would put The Learning Tree on the setlist for the next tour
[16:05] <Michael Sadler> Yes, I'll tour Germany with the solo material, logistics to be determined
[16:05] <christine> how do you choose the musicians of the solo album?
[16:05] <Susi> great!
[16:05] <Michael Sadler> Hi Silent Knight!
[16:05] <NoStrange> wow that is great news!!!
[16:06] <Eva> A Germany tour, that's great news!!! :-)
[16:06] <Albert> if you need a keyboard player call me ;-)
[16:06] <Michael Sadler> Christine - recommendations from other musicians that I trust
[16:06] <Michael Sadler> Thanks Albert
[16:06] <wischi> Michael , please tell us about the musicians on "CLEAR"
[16:06] <NoStrange> Considerations for SAGA-adaptions for your Solo-setlist?
[16:07] <Graff> Michael do you have the lyrics for Phase one? We need them badly!
[16:07] <Michael Sadler> Yes, I will do some SAGA material, most likely SAGA not previously seen live.
[16:07] <NoStrange> Could imagine songs like "Promises" and some ballads will finally get a chance to be performed live!!!
[16:08] <DonDokken> you should resurrect "Out Of The Shadows"
[16:08] <Albert> your last solo cd sounds very great, how can you beat that..
[16:08] <NoStrange> Promises really grooves!
[16:08] <christine> how do you proceed to write a song ?
[16:08] <Michael Sadler> Information on the musicians that worked with me will be on my site, We apologize to Pitchman for not providing him with as much info that he has requested
[16:08] <Pitchman> It's alright, you're very busy. :)
[16:09] <wischi> Thanks! What about playing "Gonna Give it to Ya"?
[16:09] <Graff> I remember an interview from 1985 - already back then you are talking about a solo project! How far does this go back?
[16:09] <Eva> Michael, of course we are curious of your new songs - will there be sound examples on your site?
[16:11] <Michael Sadler> Ok, Clear was conceived only about 10 years ago, yes, I plan to post some tidbits on my site very soon
[16:11] <Albert> is there any female singer, you would like to sing a duet with?
[16:11] <Harald> that would be great michael, as everyone is interested
[16:11] <Graff> Michael do you ever regret that you bacame a famous rock-star?
[16:11] <Eva> Great! Looking forward to hearing the new material - Thanks!
[16:12] <Michael Sadler> I would like to write a song with Tori Amos
[16:12] <Pitchman> that would be awesome, Tori Amos is amazing. :)
[16:12] <Michael Sadler> NO, I do not regret it for a minute.
[16:12] <Susi> Michael: that would be amazing! :)
[16:12] <Graff> We thank you for that :-)
[16:13] <Michael Sadler> Thanks for the kind words :)
[16:13] <Susi> Michael: do you already know the release date of Clear?
[16:13] <wischi> Michael , they´re was a FOUR TOPS Coverversion announced in "BRAVO" back in 1985. Will it be on "CLEAR"
[16:13] <Andy> what about another collaboration with Allanah Myles like with "Don't Give Up"?
[16:13] <Carlin> Michael, where do you take your inspiration from?
[16:13] <Michael Sadler> No, sorry, and release date is yet to be determined, we will announce it as soon as we know :)
[16:14] <Susi> okay :)
[16:14] <NoStrange> Any cover songs on CLEAR? (another Gabriel probably?)
[16:14] <christine> Michael, what is the most difficult for you : working on your solo album or on a Saga album ? And why ?
[16:14] <Graff> How will you see yourself in the future! As a Saga member or as a solo Michael Sadler?
[16:14] <Saga> there is no Saga without Michael Sadler
[16:15] <NoStrange> very true SAGA
[16:15] <Harald> and we all hope that there will be SAGA for a long, long time
[16:15] <Michael Sadler> There are no cover songs on Clear, working on the solo album is definitely harder - Why? Because it is such an introspective project, needs a lot of courage :)
[16:16] <Saga> did any other Saga personnel perform on CLEAR?
[16:16] <Michael Sadler> On the other hand, there is no Michael Sadler without SAGA.
[16:16] <Graff> What about the new Saga album! When will it be ready?
[16:16] <upwinded> Would you like to join the remaining Queen bandmembers to perform some songs like bohemian rapsody
[16:17] <Harald> good spoken michael
[16:17] <Graff> I'm not so sure, Michael ;-)
[16:17] <Susi> what an amazing idea, upwinded! :)
[16:17] <Michael Sadler> There are no SAGA members on Clear - SAGA album target date is MAY 2004 to record label
[16:17] <christine> i suppose you need to be careful than CLEAR will not sound like a SAGA album
[16:18] <Michael Sadler> Queen -- anywhere, anytime.
[16:18] <Insvims> Michael, I have always thought that you seem to have a really good time when you are on stage. I must say that Saga's last to performances here in norway was fantastic. All of you seem to be in a good mood while playing.
[16:18] <Susi> Will there be a promo tour for the new SAGA Album?
[16:18] <NoStrange> How many songs you have written for "Relativity"?
[16:19] <Graff> Michael, do you think Copenhagen has a chance to see you on the next Saga-tour? Last time was FANTASTIC
[16:19] <Andy> Michael, are you able to say why the All Areas DVD with the Bonn concert has been edited?
[16:19] <NoStrange> How would you judge Christian Simpson`s influenece on recording "Relativity"?
[16:19] <Michael Sadler> Clear sound - it will somehow sound like SAGA just the way I add flavor to SAGA sound
[16:20] <norway> are you (saga) gonna be at any festivals this summer ?
[16:20] <christine> i understand totally what you mean
[16:20] <Michael Sadler> No shortage of material for RELATIVITY (as usual), and there will probably be a promo tour (as usual)
[16:21] <Saga> when you compose a song, do you usually always begin on piano, or do you write the lyrics first?
[16:21] <wischi> Who´ll be the producer ?
[16:21] <Carlin> Will there be tour dates in the UK?
[16:21] <NoStrange> presume JC (as usual)
[16:21] <christine> what about the new DVD ? a little promo tour too ?
[16:22] <FlyerPRic> Hola Michael from Puerto Rico!!!. Good Luck on your solo work. Thanks for " Marathon", great album . Have you thought of recording a song in German or Spanish or any other language?
[16:22] <Michael Sadler> Yes, we'll do Copenhagen, don't know why about the editing, pls ask Mr. Ellis, can't comment on Christian's influence prior to recording- we're not in the studio yet
[16:22] <ddirvine> How many instruments do you play on "Clear"?
[16:23] <Michael Sadler> Lately, I've been working Melody, then Lyrics
[16:23] <Graff> We are planning a fan-meeting at the Plaza hotel in Copenhagen in the nearest future. They have a SAGA sign in the library-bar. Do you remember anything from that place? It was back in 1982 and the famous Tivoli concerts.
[16:23] <Michael Sadler> I just play keyboards, I let the Pros do what they do best
[16:24] <Saga> I read an article that stated you were a writer between Truck and Saga...where did your articles appear?
[16:24] <Harald> any ideas to produce a video or movie or so based on the chapters? I think this coulld be a good story doing something like this
[16:24] <Michael Sadler> Regarding '82 - they say I had a great time :)
[16:25] <Michael Sadler> Not true - not a writer, worked for a graphic arts company :)
[16:25] <wischi> Apropos TRUCK! Is there any recording of you before SAGA?
[16:25] <Saga> ok, thanks for clarifying
[16:25] <upwinded> Would SAGA do a Canadian Rocknight with Bryan Adams?
[16:25] <Albert> did you use other than korg-keyboards :-)
[16:26] <Michael Sadler> The long running discussion about animation of the Chapters for film - still going
[16:26] <Saga> when is "Live Chapters" coming out?
[16:26] <Michael Sadler> If asked, I'd be very pleased to go
[16:26] <Andy> Michael, will there be new chapters after completing 16 chapters?
[16:26] <Harald> hope it will come to an positive end
[16:27] <Michael Sadler> I use KORG keyboards exclusively
[16:27] <Graff> How is it in sunny California? I'm freezing in cold Copenhagen right now!:-(
[16:27] <Susi> The "Bayerische Rundfunk", one of Germany's biggest radiostations sends greetings to you and they will play "Only Time Will Tell" in a few minutes in honor of Michael Sadler :)
[16:27] <FlyerPRic> great!
[16:27] <Michael Sadler> Live Chapters - don't know schedules - There are no more Chapters - that story has just ended.
[16:28] <Insvims> Michael, can you give us a hint on what we can expect on "Relativity"?
[16:28] <NoStrange> If you would have the choice, who would you like to do visualisation of the chapters (i.e. nay preferred director or artist)?
[16:28] <Saga> will you ever use synthesizers besides Korg again?
[16:28] <christine> michael what is the song you never sing on stage and you'll like too ( from SAGA or another band ) ?
[16:28] <Michael Sadler> Bayerische Rundfunk - My deepest thanks, I am greatly honored, please forward my sincerest well wishes to them all. Thank You
[16:29] <ddirvine> Will "Clear" include lyric liner notes?
[16:29] <Susi> Michael, I'll hand it on to them :)
[16:29] <Michael Sadler> TIME OUT, Please :)
[16:30] <Michael Sadler> Michael wants a moment to read some of the questions, we'll like to answer as many as possible.
[16:30] <upwinded> INTERMISSION
[16:30] <Susi> SAGA on air! :)
[16:30] <Eva> and here is really SAGA on air!
[16:30] <Eva> SWR3 would rather die than play good music!!!
[16:31] <Andy> that's why I never listen to SWR3...
[16:32] <NoStrange> still cigarette break??
[16:33] <Susi> Try http://www.bayern3.de
[16:34] <Albert> Michael, can you understand people like me, beeing so crazy about you and your music for more than 20 years now
[16:35] <ddirvine> Michaels writing the lyrics out right now for the "Clear" liner booklet!
[16:35] <Michael Sadler> Re: Korg - until someone can make something better - Some SAGA songs may appear during solo tour, Yes, I understand about the music. I'm still crazy, period.
[16:36] <NoStrange> Michael, any plans for single releases from RELATIVITY and/or CLEAR?
[16:36] <Saga> Michael, do you have any piercings or body art?
[16:37] <Michael Sadler> I can only speak about Clear right now, and right now there are 3-4 contenders for single.
[16:37] <ddirvine> Will you appear on the CD cover?
[16:37] <Albert> do you have a label already?
[16:37] <upwinded> Has SAGA any plans already for the 30th Anniversary show for 2007 :-)))
[16:37] <Michael Sadler> NO, just one ear pierced when I was 20 and no body art (thank goodness)
[16:37] <Saga> yeah, that's cool, I hate tattoos LOL
[16:38] <Michael Sadler> Clear CD cover - yes!
[16:38] <Susi> Michael, and now some promotion for CLEAR on BR - for free!
[16:38] <Saga> now Graff, on the other hand...hahahahaha!
[16:38] <Michael Sadler> This album is self-financed -exploring distribution options
[16:38] <Graff> Your stepdaughter Jessica did a lot of video-filming on the last tour! Will these be used on a DVD later?
[16:38] <Susi> he talks about this chat on AIR!
[16:38] <Andy> there is just at the moment a little advertisement for our chat right now!!!
[16:38] <Susi> he sends greeteings from Michael Sadler on air
[16:38] <Eva> und führt noch... ;-)
[16:38] <Carlin> Michael, would you say that the cultural environment of the places you lived had an influence on your work?
[16:39] <Susi> and told about your Website, Michael :)
[16:39] <Michael Sadler> Yes, Jessica was a trooper
[16:39] <Albert> will you offer it to any record-company or only sale it through the internet?
[16:39] <Eva> Great SAGA information on air at Bayern3!!! :-)
[16:39] <Harald> Just heard it on BR3 Susi, great
[16:39] <Michael Sadler> Susi - thank you - Michael is blushing right now
[16:39] <Susi> now all bavarians know about Clear *g*
[16:39] <Saga> Michael, I saw a picture of you with big hair that was dated mid-90s...had you grown your hair at that time like you had it in the 70s?
[16:39] <Graff> SAGA RULES 4EVER!
[16:40] <Andy> I know a really good record company ;-)
[16:40] <Michael Sadler> Both internet and traditional
[16:40] <Susi> Michael, you could send me a promo copy for Tom, he might play something from Clear :)
[16:40] <Michael Sadler> Hair - was for 20th anniversary show - it was a WIG
[16:41] <danny> will there be a special edition for the people who already reserved a copy?
[16:41] <Michael Sadler> Thank you SUSI, we will do that.
[16:41] <Susi> thanks :)
[16:41] <cr> In terms of distribution options: Maybe you can get in touch with Martin Frankenberg (remember him?), he has a lot of contacts to distributers through his own Interplanet label.
[16:41] <Graff> By the way what about us with no creditcard? How can we buy it?
[16:41] <wischi> Traditional cool? What about some promotion in my record store?
[16:41] <Susi> Graff: good question!
[16:41] <Michael Sadler> Yes, the reservation list is designed to make sure that the fans get a copy first
[16:41] <Saga> a WIG??? Michael, that's blasphemy! hahahahahahaha!!!!!!
[16:42] <Michael Sadler> cr - thank you, noted
[16:42] <cr> ;-)
[16:42] <Michael Sadler> Hi, John, your copy will be reserved, no worries
[16:42] <Saga> Michael, do you have any weird tales from your stint as a cab driver that you'd like to share with us
[16:42] <Graff> Thanks Michael :-)
[16:43] <Susi> Michael, what do you think about fan bases like SAGA Germany? ;)
[16:43] <Albert> do you think MTV has killed real good and sophisticated music or the companys
[16:43] <Michael Sadler> The Limited Edition Clear album is 1,000 copies serialized and Autographed
[16:43] <FlyerPRic> What do you have in your CD player right now?
[16:43] <Saga> right on! I'd like to reserve #666, please - no joke!
[16:44] <Eva> Hope I wasn't the 1001st!
[16:44] <Michael Sadler> Too many cab stories to tell here
[16:44] <Graff> Do you ever hear Saga music at home?
[16:44] <Saga> just one!
[16:44] <Michael Sadler> I wouldn't be here without all of you - honestly!
[16:44] <Saga> we love you, man...not in a gay way, but we love you!
[16:44] <Pitchman> haha
[16:44] <Susi> *lol* Saga
[16:45] <Michael Sadler> MTV - is just a reflection of commercial needs of their companies - it's not their fault
[16:45] <Michael Sadler> In my CD right now - rough mixes of Clear
[16:45] <Susi> *lol*
[16:45] <Albert> for us it#s the same..we really breath your music everyday
[16:45] <Michael Sadler> We'll you better sign up quick - they are going fairly fast!
[16:45] <christine> is it one duo song on your new album
[16:46] <Saga> ok, can I request that number when I order?
[16:46] <Graff> I got over 1200 cd's, but really don't need other than Saga's and the solo stuff of yours:-)
[16:46] <Albert> i think my live would be a lot poorer without Saga-honestly
[16:47] <Susi> Michael, would you please send regards to your daughter from mine (tuxiline)? she is afraid of talking english ;)
[16:47] <Harald> We, all the german fans, hope, that there will be a chance to have a fan meeting together with the band on this years tour as last year at Speyer. That would be great!
[16:47] <Saga> What's your favorite song off of Heads Or Tales?
[16:47] <upwinded> Would you love to play in TO at a packed Skydome and the folks going nuts ?
[16:47] <Michael Sadler> Duet, no - We'll limit the request for special number sequence to 20 people so as to be fair to all that have reserved their copies, since you were the first to mention it
[16:47] <Graff> Michael, what about a chapter concert in front of the Einstein Tower?
[16:48] <Michael Sadler> Intermission, the song.
[16:48] <ddirvine> Michael, this concert at the Indian Motorcyle cafe in Toronto last night was promoted that Saga would be playing (it was Jim Gilmour only) was it ever the intention that the band would play?
[16:48] <Eva> right, already late here - and tomorrow morning we must work again...
[16:48] <christine> gwen what do you think about CLEAR ???
[16:48] <Michael Sadler> Nice idea John
[16:49] <upwinded> The Einstein Tower would be a great venue to do the 30th Anniversary show !!!
[16:49] <danny> cu Eva & Andy
[16:49] <Insvims> Intermission is a great song. Would love to hear that live again sometime.
[16:49] <Michael Sadler> Thanks Susi, I'll pass it on
[16:49] <Pitchman> ddirvine, no. I don't think so.. i think it was just bad promo on JackFM's part.
[16:49] <Susi> upwinded: yes! :)
[16:49] <Eva> Have a nice evening and Good bye!
[16:49] <Albert> ian playes outstanding on Intermission...
[16:49] <Harald> bye eva
[16:49] <cr> ddirvine: Jack FM did the same with the last gig on Boxing day
[16:49] <NoStrange> especially live version of Intermission is great
[16:49] <wischi> Michael, who was the guy singing "WIND HIM UP" in Osnabrück/Germany ?
[16:49] <Michael Sadler> No - the band was not meant to be there, perhaps they meant a member of SAGA
[16:49] <Graff> An a big ballon Harold standing in the tower... Wow I'll be there:-)
[16:50] <NoStrange> Michael, can you explain the background about not putting the whole Bonn-concert on the ALL AREAS DVD?
[16:50] <Michael Sadler> GWEN - I have heard just some portions of Michael's work - as an honest opinion? - I thought it sounded amazing - he's good
[16:50] <NoStrange> There is a lot of discussion going on as you may have seen in the forum
[16:50] <Saga> Michael, ever listen to Kansas? any Kansas influence every creep into Saga back in the day?
[16:51] <Michael Sadler> The person who sang Wind Him Up was a fan, who unfortunately broke his ankle leaving the stage :(
[16:51] <Graff> Gwen, why do you think we been here for 25 years:-) He's really good:-)
[16:52] <Graff> I have been around since 1979
[16:52] <upwinded> and counting !!!
[16:52] <FlyerPRic> i began to hear saga when i was 8
[16:52] <Susi> *lol* tuxiline listened to SAGA when she was born ;)
[16:52] <upwinded> I can't wait for 2007
[16:52] <Michael Sadler> Kansas - I was a fan at that time, so sure, there could be subliminal influence
[16:53] <ddirvine> Michael, a tour road worker showed up at the concert last night and gave Jim pics and old tour footage including songs that he says were never recorded! He even had a old 1980 tour coat on!
[16:53] <danny> My Children are 3 and 6, they love SAGA, too
[16:53] <Saga> Michael, were Dennis DeYoung and James Young really bent out of shape over Saga blowing Styx off the stage in '79?
[16:53] <Michael Sadler> Flyer - I began to sing when I was 8
[16:53] <Carlin> Michael, what are you doing when you are hoarse, do professional singers have a special secret to treat it?
[16:53] <Albert> would you like to bring up a live show with Pink-Floyd dimensions?
[16:53] <Michael Sadler> Danny :)
[16:54] <Michael Sadler> 1979 - there was a rumour that we would be replaced the next day following the first concert
[16:54] <Susi> Michael, we talked about a SAGA "Baby Edition" ... SAGA songs for children - what do you think about it? ;)
[16:54] <NoStrange> Know what you mean Danny, my son is 4 and I have a wonderful pic with him with Michael and Ian
[16:54] <Michael Sadler> I've only had a problem with my voice once, canceled one show.
[16:54] <NoStrange> signed by the whole band, thanks again for that Michael
[16:54] <danny> Susi, great idea *g*
[16:55] <Michael Sadler> Baby edition - hmmmm
[16:55] <Susi> many children love SAGA songs :)
[16:55] <upwinded> 10 babies doing wind him up *lol*
[16:56] <Susi> not this way, upwinded! :)
[16:56] <Albert> My son is 4 he likes "time bomb" and "the one" most
[16:56] <Graff> My daughter thinks I'm crazy and she do not like SAGA (she says) but I often catch her singing your songs:-)
[16:56] <NoStrange> my little boy loves Don`t be late is playing the hihats of my e-drum to it
[16:56] <Susi> my daughter was able to sing humble stance at the age of 4 :)
[16:56] <wischi1> Michael, what is the rest of the band doing at this time ?
[16:57] <Michael Sadler> Everyone is writing at this time
[16:57] <kuschel> hi michael, greetings from Berlin :-)
[16:57] <Michael Sadler> Greetings from L.A. :)
[16:57] <Graff> Michael isn't it strange to be 'loved' by so many strangers?
[16:57] <Susi> tuxiline: Graff is talking about his real daughter I guess :)
[16:58] <Saga> great weather here in SoCal *snicker* sorry to everyone else, but we roast in the warm months, so it's a tradeoff
[16:58] <Michael Sadler> Ask Gwen how she feels about that.
[16:58] <Carlin> How about a kids compilation, seriously. My kids like certain songs better than others and it's often a pain up the backside, when they demand Humble Stance while I'm listening to Full Circle.
[16:59] <wischi1> SAGA´ 30th anniversary ... Steve´ return ?
[16:59] <Saga> I've heard a rumor that a certain webmaster is the guy who posed for the "Turkey" pic! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[16:59] <Pitchman> uh... NO!
[16:59] <Susi> *loooooool*
[16:59] <Saga> LOL
[16:59] <Michael Sadler> Sorry, no comments on Turkeys :)
[16:59] <Susi> ;)

[17:01] <Michael Sadler> Michael is a JAG man, :)
[17:01] <Saga> is Relativity going to be harder, softer, or something altogether new?
[17:01] <Graff> I just thought the Eclipse name was funny. (Eclipse Entertainment)
[17:01] <Graff> Michael, what team is your fav. formula 1 team? Mine is FERRARI
[17:02] <Michael Sadler> We're looking forward to hearing Christian's influence ourselves
[17:02] <ddirvine> Michael, are there songs on "Clear" that would not be Saga songs? Another words, a very different direction?
[17:02] <Michael Sadler> Ferrari, of course - the others are there just to make it a race :)
[17:03] <Graff> I'll buy you a Ferrari cap on the next tour then;-)
[17:03] <Susi> tell it to Michael Schumacher's brother *g*
[17:03] <Michael Sadler> Hard for me to say - I'll have to wait and see what you folks think :)
[17:03] <pamina> Can Christian play Generation 13?
[17:04] <Saga> Michael, did you ever listen to Kraftwerk and Gary Numan back in the day?
[17:04] <Susi> is Kraftwerk well known in Canada?
[17:04] <Michael Sadler> Kraftwerk and Numan, absolutely
[17:04] <Saga> Michael, you are the man!
[17:04] <Graff> Is Richard Baker from the '90 tour the same Richard Baker who's on Gen 13?
[17:04] <Saga> did you get Kraftwerk's new album, Tour de France Soundtracks? just like the good ol' days!
[17:04] <Michael Sadler> Ok, folks, gotta run, we'll post audio update as soon as we work out tech issue for uploading.
