"We regret to inform everyone that Brian Doerner, SAGA's current drummer suffered a heart attack yesterday.
He is stable, and recovering from an emergency angioplasty at this time. Please join Michael and myself in wishing him a speedy recovery.
As an unexpected twist, Steve Negus will be joining the old gang to perform the 2 remaining shows for their 30th Anniversary. Welcome back Steve!
We will let everyone know how SAGA will be handling the European shows as soon as we find out more about Brian's health. ""

Hello all,
Just popped in to my hotel room pre-show to clarify and update Brian's condition. Apparently it was NOT a heart attack as such. Nevertheless, it was severe enough to have warrented immediate attention. He is stable as far as I know at the moment. I'll give you more info when it becomes available.
Wilkie, you may feel free to pass on this update as well! (lol)

New drummer... I wonder what goes through Steves head these days... Does he feel an obligation to fill in for Brian - or is he happy to be back (where he belong)? After all - he left Saga because the other guys had no space left for his input... To me Steve Negus is the most loyal guy you would ever hope to meet! And what if Brian's not fit to do the euro-shows? Is there a slight chance of getting to see my all-time favourite drummer filling in for Brian the whole tour? Or is the tour at risk of being cancelled? I'm quite nervous these days...
And having said all these nice things about Steve does NOT imply that I don't like Brian! I think Brian's a very nice guy - and one hell of a drummer! And I wish him a speedy recovery!
I rest my case...
