Bass Solo

Bass Solo

Beitragvon Timmer » Di Jan 15, 2008 9:42 pm

I have all the Saga Dvd's (Well not that South American one) and since I've only seen Saga once live I have a question.
Has Jim ever done a bass solo live.
The others get their chance to shine but I don't recall anything at the Barrie show or on any DVD.
There are some great bass hooks on 10,000 Days that could be expanded live I'm sure.

I also miss that... But All Areas... Time Bob... There is an 20 seconds bass intro :eg:

I believe Jimmy doesn't need a solo... He's a genius! His solo are the Saga lyrics and the music... For me :D

But I missed Ian Crichton solo Solos :eg:

That intro you are referring to is the bassline of Time Bomb and not the actual intro to the song, that were sound effects of war scenes

Not a solo but a good bass & drum feature at the beginning of Humble Stance on Detours.
Just bought Detours last Friday so this was the first listen to that version live.

No to Bass.
Drumms are my instrument of choice.
I don't have a set right now. I have a motorcycle for sale and once that sells i'll get a new set. I have had sets in the past though.
I feel a nice reggae groove to that version of Humble Stance. I really like it when the rythm section gets it going!

Hi Timmer,
well, I´m a drummer, too.
Humble Stance is indeed an outstanding rythm.
I also like the different briefcase solos.
Fortunately I own a big Sonor Signature set.
Hoping, you get your set soon.

This is a great point. From time to time, when ever I would get the chance I would bring a friend to a Saga concert or show them a dvd. While it is obvious all five are great musicians, Jim is so laid back that I have to explain his significance in the band. I tell them all Jim brings to Saga. Gotta give Jim the credit for giving all his fellow band members a chance to shine.
