Magnum (on a day off)

Magnum (on a day off)

Beitragvon sagalady » Mo Sep 28, 2009 5:14 pm

My boss and I went to see Magnum last night. I needed a beer and some R'n'R after having done a gig at the Globe Arena doing sound in two locations at the same time, pulling an 18 hour shift on saturday. So the boss at the PA company and I went out for a beer or two. Anyway - the support band TM had put me on the guest list, not breathing a word to Mark Stanway in Magnum. I've known Mark for umpteen years. Crew were giggling and waiting for it.

Boss, being a Saga/progrock fan as well (as half of the people are at the PA company) and I had a great time watching the show.

Back stage Mark and I stood with silly grins laughing and reminiscing and then he spots my coat and the Saga logo starts babbling about Jim Crichton and how much he adores the man. (Jim has played on at least one Magnum CD.)

Now, that would be a nice bill. Magnum and Saga co-headlining a tour.

Anyway, Magnum are playing copenhagen tonight and Hamburg is the next stop. The band sounded great and Bob Catley has lost none of his strength in his voice. Sounding as good as always!

I gave myself a complete day off today. Haven't seen one of those in a month or two. The beer turned in to crawling home at shortly before 6 am. Boss had orders to be home before kids went to school. I think he just made it.

I think I'm going back to bed.

Why??? Every band understood that you need a good package to fill the halls! Priest and Megadeth, Status Quo and Kansas, Slayer and Slipknot, Dream Theater and Opeth!

Saga don't need to play in front of a poor audience of 300 people!!! They could play in front of 4000 people with a good partner...

Thats the way you survive today...
