SAGA are currently in the recording studio in Los Angeles recording the new CD titled "10,000 Days". Celebrating 30 years of rocking with all new songs. It may be the last studio CD with Michael Sadler on vocals.
The CD is scheduled for release in time for the fall European tour in October 2007!!

What would be really really cool is if they asked Steve Negus to come back on board for the album and the farewell tour. That would be special

While it would be cool to a certain extent. I also think Steve choose to leave the band on his own. Saga has to move on...and it would not be fair to Brian. Brian seems to really eb embracing being a member of Saga and I think we should all give him a chance. If you brought back Steve I think you could kiss brian goodbye. And honestly it is a little too soon for a reunion tour...Steve did however fill in for brian when he had back problems not that long ago.

Although I think Steve is really a great drummer and nice person, I would prefer that Brian plays the drums on the forthcoming album and tour. I think he brought with his way of playing new energy into Sagas sound. In some years when the guys start their re-union Tour ( just dreaming) they could ask Brian or Steve whoever then is available.

Let us agree on the classic-line-up for the Reunion Tour .... in some years ...

Steve vs Brian
Had the pleasure of hearing Brian live for the second time on aug.4 in Oslo, and there's no doubt in my mind that he's an excellent drummer - in fact he might be on the top 10 list of world-class drummers. Having said that; Steve's the original drummer, and we're used to his beats and fills, so when Brian's playing the old songs and plays them just a little bit different than Steve, I get a little "disappointed"... It's like a vocalist not singing the lyrics right... But by all means - I could probably get used to Brian's heavy drumming
I also had the pleasure of driving Brian from the airport to the hotel in Oslo ( + Michael and Jim C TO the airport) and had the extreme pleasure of hearing him rehearsing in my car - without drums! That was INSANE!
And after the show I (my 7yr old daughter, actually) was lucky to get one of Brian's used drum sticks! So I had the time of my life
But as you can see right below - you all know who's my #1 drummer of all times...

@ Roar,
What a great experience: driving Brian and hearing his rehearsing and driving the other members.
I have seen and heard Steve two times (1983 en 2006) and Brian four times (2005 and 2006) and I really love to see and hear Brian. They're both good, but Brian expresses the fun of playing drums so much more and he's more like firework. And he infected me with his enthousiastic playing: I started playing myself. My favourite drummer is absolutely Brian.

Hi Ineke!
I will NEVER forget 4th/5th of August 2007!

Brian is a firecracker

Good to hear he has influenced you to start drumming!
I started drumming mainly because of Steve.
I've had 10 lessons now - but it's gonna take FOREVER to be able to play a Saga-tune...

I rest my case...
